Choral @ the Eisteddfod by the Bay

2013 sees the return of the Choral section to the Eisteddfod by the Bay. On Thursday 1st August choirs and vocal groups of all ages will join together at Kingston City Hall to compete, enjoy some fantastic music and gain valuable performance experience.

Past competitors have commented on the caring and supportive environment created by both the volunteers and participating choirs. We make a point of encouraging our open age choir competitors to volunteer during the day program for Junior and Senior choirs. Not only does this mean we have plenty of support for musical directors, with each Junior and Senior choir having their own assigned volunteer to guide them through the process on the day. We also feel the involvement of adult singers provides a positive example to our younger competitors.

Each year the Eisteddfod by the Bay provides a highly qualified adjudicator to give each choir a critique of their performance. They will also give helpful comments that will assist your choir to continue to develop its performance skills. Our adjudicators are themselves professional performers, teachers and examiners and most competed in eisteddfods themselves when they were young.

The Eisteddfod by the Bay is run by a small committee assisted by some wonderful volunteers who are dedicated to the promotion of the performing arts in our community. The Committee, our volunteers and sponsors hope you will enjoy performing at this year’s Choral Eisteddfod.
