Eisteddfod by the Bay Senior Vocal Coordinator
Jill is a trained classical singer and played principal roles with The
Southern Cross Light Opera Company for seven years. She has sung in concert parties and
had her own "Jaytee" for 10 years.
Jill taught music and drama with The Victorian Education Department and was a Music Adviser for three years. Also, she taught pre-school music privately.
Jill has been involved in teaching singing and drama for twenty-eight years.
In 1989, she became involved with local councils, and started Springboard Players Community Theatre, where she was Artistic Director and Musical Director for twelve years. She has directed many traditional theatre pieces, outdoor theatre and multi-cultural theatre.
Jill has conducted theatre workshop programs for children, young adults and seniors for The City of Greater Dandenong and The City of Kingston. Jill was the Chair of Arts Springvale for five years. This was an Arts Council that worked closely with the former City of Springvale and helped organise exhibitions, displays and performances.
Jill has extensive experience in Arts and Culture having sat on many council boards and reference groups. She currently is Chair of Voice for the Arts (Dingley Village), board member of PlayUP Youth Arts, board member of Public Arts Reference Group (City of Greater Dandenong) and Chair of The Kingston Arts and Culture Advisory Committee.
Jill trains and conducts a choir, 'Vivace Voices'. She enjoys attending Australia and local opera performances and has been senior classical vocal coordinator with Eisteddfod by the Bay since 2002.
