Statement of Intent

Name

The name of the Association shall be the "Eisteddfod by the Bay Inc." and herein shall be referred to as the Eisteddfod.

Objectives

1. To arrange, promote and conduct annual competitions in the performing arts, especially in dance, piano, vocal, speech, drama and choral.
2. To encourage younger performers to participate by adopting age groupings and grades that are specifically directed towards those performers.
3. To provide performers with the opportunity to gain experience and confidence in their chosen field through challenging but friendly competition against their peers.
4. To establish and maintain the highest practicable standard of competition by providing suitable venues, recognised adjudicators and awards appropriate to the performers' accomplishments.
5. To attract to the organising committee people who are suitably qualified to contribute to the Eisteddfod and who are prepared to perform their duties in an honorary capacity.
6. The Eisteddfod was neither formed nor is it conducted for the purpose of trading or securing a profit to the members of any grade. The income, however derived, shall be applied solely to the promotion of its objectives.
